Jose Altuve was added to the Astros' lineup after the team reversed course on its decision to bench him -- against his wishes -- in an attempt to protect his lead in the AL batting race.

Altuve still wrapped up the batting crown as he went 2 for 4 with a ground-rule double and a run-scoring infield single in the loss to the Mets, ending the season with 225 hits and a .341 average, both best in the majors.

Jordan Zimmermann tossed the season's fifth no-hitter against the Marlins for the Nationals on the season's final day, according to an ESPN.com report.

On Derek Jeter Day in the Bronx, the Yankees honored their captain by bringing in the likes of Michael Jordan, Cal Ripken Jr. and the next commissioner, Rob Manfred, along with Jeter's championship teammates and his family.

After Jeter briefly thanked George Steinbrenner, his family, friends and teammates, the 40-year-old captain turned his attention to the masses who chanted his name throughout.

"Lastly and most importantly, I want to thank you, the fans," said Jeter, who later admitted his hand was shaking. 

Albert Pujols reached 2,500 career hits and 1,500 career runs in the Angels' third straight victory on Saturday, an 8-5 win over the Twins at Target Field.

Pujols' third-inning solo homer -- his 25th on the year -- made him the 70th member of the 1,500-runs club. His ninth-inning two-run double -- giving him 87 RBIs on the season -- made him the 98th member of the 2,500-hits club.
